New slate of animated and live action kids programs launching in Latin America at MipCom 2014
A rich slate of brand new kids programs will be introduced at MipCom Junior and MipCom by GoldBee for Latin America.
Heading up the list is brand new ZDFE.Junior’s Lassie and Friends (26×22’), The beloved collie comes to life in an animated TV series that is adventurous, humorous and a whole lot of fun. Lassie is smart, loyal and ready to cross rivers and fires to come to the rescue of her young owner, 10-year old Zoe. A big task, as Zoe’s hunger for adventure is as large as the Grand Mountain National Park that she calls home. The series, based on the classic DreamWorks Animation brand, is a co-production between ZDF Enterprises, DQ Entertainment International, and Superprod Production.
Following the international success of H20 Just Add Water (78×28’), comes Mako Mermaids (52×26’), the spin-off of the hit series, with 52 brand new episodes. The story of the magical Mako Island continues as a pod of mermaids who once called Mako home, have had their lives turned upside down by a merman who developed a connection with the island, posing a threat to their existence. As the mermaids struggle to take back his powers, they discover that his connection with Mako isn’t quite an accident. New mermaids and mermen are met along the way, and some are even created! Mako Mermaids is produced by Jonathan M. Shiff in association with Network Ten, ZDF, ZDF Enterprises and Netflix.
Also launching this MipCom Junior is animated series Marcus Level (52×13’). When Marcus gets the latest version of his favorite video game, he suddenly finds himself switching places with video game hero Gorbar the Magnificent. It’s obvious that things aren’t going to be easy neither for Marcus, nor for Gorbar in Marcus’ home! The series is a co-production between Mondo TV France, ZDF Enterprises in collaboration with TF1.
The Skinner Boys (26×22’) is a comedy, action, adventure series about 3 brothers and their spirited teenage cousin, Tara. They are the Guardians
of the Lost Secrets, sworn to protect the world’s most hidden mysteries. As the anonymous Guardians of these artefacts, Tara and the boys must dedicate their lives to protecting them against the forces that would use their powers for evil and endanger the planet. Produced by SLR Productions in co-production with Telegael, Top Draw, Super RTL, Channel Nine and ZDF Enterprises.
These new programs complete the already rich offering for the region, which include international hit series such as The New Adventures of Peter Pan (26×22’), The Jungle Book (104×11’ + 1×60’), international live action teen hit saga WolfBlood (39×26’) now in its third season, and brand new Sam Fox Extreme Adventures (26×26’).
