Nickelodeon International picks up Chop Chop Ninja Challenge

Over 100 territories sold of the App based property

Chop Chop Ninja Challenge (40×1.5’) continues its expansion with new broadcasters and digital platforms on board.

Nickelodeon picked up the ninja slapstick series (PayTV and non-exclusive SVOD rights) for EMEA, South East Asia, Russia and Central Europe, Turkey, Israel and parts of English speaking Africa.

Chinese digital platform giant iQIYI also snapped up the non-exclusive SVOD rights of the series, reporting over 10 million views in the first 2 weeks.

These new agreements broaden the international list of partners already on board, which include Corus’ Teletoon Canada, The Walt Disney Company in Australia and New Zealand, pubcaster VRT in Belgium, NRK Super in Norway, and Indonesia’s Indosiar. Sardine Productions also reported last year an agreement with The Walt Disney Company in Latin America (in a deal brokered by Swimming Rabbit), bringing the number of sold territories to over 100.

Chop Chop Ninja Challenge is a co-production between Canada’s Sardine Productions and Gamerizon Studio, in collaboration with TELETOON Canada.

The series delivers with a set of 2 on-line games, which successfully launched last fall on the Teletoon Canada website.

Based on the international Chop Chop game franchise created by Gamerizon Studio and scoring over 19 million downloads worldwide, Chop Chop Ninja Challenge (40 X 1.5’) features four lively ninjas using all their resources to complete a challenge in three tries. They leave it all on the floor, yet never succeed the simplest challenge. The non verbal, highly comedic slapstick shorts allow the audience to see their favourite characters in action. Each failure is spectacular. Three strikes – you’re out!

With a full series (52 X 11’) and 2 Specials (2 X 44’) in development with TELETOON Canada, the shorts are the first part of an exciting extension of the already successful brand.

Chop Chop Ninja Challenge is a co-production between Canada’s Sardine Productions and Gamerizon Studio, in collaboration with TELETOON Canada. International distribution rights (except for Iberia and Latin America) are with GoldBee’s Christophe Goldberger.
